Erin Gardiner Psychotherapy
Virtual therapy from the comfort of home.
Therapy That Meets You Where You’re At
Therapy doesn’t have to be about having all the right words or knowing exactly what you want to work on before you start. Sometimes you just know that something feels off, you’re overwhelmed, stuck in the same patterns, or tired of trying to figure everything out on your own, and that’s a good enough place to start.
I offer individual virtual therapy for adults across Ontario, with a warm, collaborative and down-to-earth approach. We can talk about what’s happening in your life right now, while also getting curious about the patterns, relationships and past experiences that might be shaping how you’re feeling today.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so we’ll figure out together what feels most helpful for you.

A Little About Me
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and before moving into psychotherapy, I spent 20 years working as a Registered Massage Therapist. After that much time working one-on-one with people, I’ve learned that there’s usually a lot more going on beneath the surface. What we’re carrying emotionally often shows up in our bodies, our relationships, our reactions and the patterns we find ourselves repeating — even when we know those patterns aren’t really working for us anymore. That curiosity about the deeper stuff is a big part of what eventually led me to psychotherapy.
What Therapy With Me Is Like
I’m not the kind of therapist who is going to sit silently, nod and occasionally ask, “And how does that make you feel?”Therapy with me is much more of a conversation so I’ll listen, ask questions, get curious with you and sometimes gently challenge you. You can expect warmth and compassion, but you can also expect me to be real with you.
My Approach
My practice is primarily psychodynamic, which is really just a fancy way of saying I’m interested in understanding what’s underneath what you are experiencing. We might look at patterns that keep showing up in your relationships, how earlier experiences have shaped the way you see yourself or others, or why you can logically understand something but still feel completely different emotionally.
At the same time, I don’t believe every problem needs to become a deep dive into your childhood; sometimes you just need something practical that helps you get through the day. So depending on what’s going on, I draw from a wide variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, somatic therapy, parts work, mindfulness and attachment-based approaches. We can go deeper when it makes sense, but we can also work with what’s happening in your life right now.
